  • Do you sell Gift Cards
    We offer gift vouchers. The difference is that the voucher has no monetary value as it is only redeemable on courses we offer. They are remitted on our website at the time of booking via a code provided by our partners at Breakaway Experiences, where you can purchase the voucher. Much like a gift card they can be used at the voucher holders discretion before the expiry date of 1 year from the time of activation.
  • How difficult are the courses?
    Although our courses are designed for beginners, blacksmithing in its most basic terms is still physically and mentally demanding. You are on your feet for 6 to 7 hrs swinging a hammer, holding tools that weigh 1-2 lbs. and using grinders at stomach level. We do our best to help all beginners on their blacksmithing adventure but if you have concerns please contact us to discuss them.
  • How do I know how many spots are left in a course?
    When you click on a course date and it takes you to the "Add you Info" page you should see a drop down menu for particpants. This will allow you to select as many spots as are available. If there is no menu then there is only 1 spot left for that class.
  • My credit card isn't accepted?
    In many cases Square and PayPal do not seem to function with certain web browser like Internet Explorer. Try switching your browser to Google Chrome.
  • What payment methods can I pay with?
    When purchasing on line you can pay with a credit card. When visiting the shop you can pay in cash or credit. At this time we do not have a debit option.
  • How do I redeem a gift voucher for a course?
    First ensure that your gift voucher has been activated with Breakaway Experiences. Enter the code as it appears on the card in the coupon code section of the booking form and press the arrow next to it to apply. As each participant(s) must book individually to use their gift vouchers code please ensure there is room available in the course. If no participant tab appears in the information entry screen then there is only 1 space available, otherwise a drop down tab will be available to view the number of participants available.
  • When can I expect my store order?
    Our turnaround time on shipping a store item is 3 days to 1 week, depending on order volume. If your item is out of stock your order may take to 2-4 weeks to ship. Please contact us if you need and exact date.
  • How old do you need to be to participate?
    Any participants need to be 14 yrs of age or older. Any one 16yrs of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Anyone under the age of 18 must have their waivers signed by an adult or legal guardian.
  • What is your refund policy?
    Refunds on anytype of purchase are issued at the sole discretion of Vans Blacksmithing. Refunds may only be issued up to 30 days from the transaction date. We may decide to only offer an in store credit. Cancellations less than 72hrs in advanced or "no shows" will not be entitled to any refund or credit and the entire amount paid will be forfeit. Please review our booking policy for further details.
  • Can I come to the shop?
    Customers are welcome to come to the shop and store during opening hours from 10am to 5pm Saturday - Wednesday. If you are looking for specific information on courses or to book please contact our main office via phone or email.
  • How do I book for more than one person?
    When booking for a group make sure to select a date that has enough spots. There will be a drop down menu for participants on the "add your info" page that shows you how many spots are left. If there is no menu that means there is only one spot left.
